Something I’ve been asked much during this time is how to use the resources posted on the blog, either Brushes (Brushes), patterns and styles, the question is always how to apply.
Perhaps many see this tutorial as something obvious, but a lot of readers are just beginning to use PhotoShop and still not know how to do it, so I think this tutorial useful.
Basically everyone has a very similar way to be loaded into PhotoShop, but to erase any doubts, see action for action.
The first thing I always advise is to be ordered. Create a folder in My Documents or wherever you like most so-called “PhotoShop” and within that, folders with different resources, “Styles”, “Brushes,” “Patterns” and “Shapes.” These are the categories that I consider essential and basic. Then we can include folders as “PSD,” “Vector” and all that is included in design elements.
Once all the items ordered, we can see how to handle them within the program. There are several ways:
GENERAL
This allows us to view and upload multiple items (brushes, shapes, etc) from the same window.
For this, we go to Edit> Presets Manager and the following window.

As we see, the top combobox shows all types of adjustment and by selecting one of them will show its current content.
To download an item, one must select what type of resource will be (brushes, styles, etc.) and show the contents, go to “load” button to select the directory created previously. In this way charge any of the elements.
Once you do that, we appear in the preview and ready for use.
Well, this is one way to do it. Let’s see how to apply and another way of adding new elements individually.
As we all know, each of these elements has its own panel or tool to implement.
BRUSHES
Select the tool “Brush” and at the top will appear the properties of this tool.

I think this instance is known to all. To select a specific Brush we went to the window that opens when you click on the arrow marked with a red square. Here we see the following:

Since that arrow on the upper right corner we can open a context menu where, among various options, find the “Load brushes …” Clicking here will open a window to examine our record so we can select the brush you need to use . This will be displayed at the end of the preset brushes.
We already have our brush ready to use!
STYLES
For style is the same procedure as we saw earlier but from the panel “styles” found in the right, along with the rest of the panels. If you do not visualize, we can open it from the top main menu, Window> Styles.
To apply the desired style, just have to select the layer with the font, shape or element to apply the style and click on the chosen style.
FORMS
Custom forms can be found in the toolbar, hold down the mouse on the tool “rectangle.”

As we see, at the end is the item we seek. Selecting this tool will appear at the top of the Properties pane, which operate in the same way as the brushes. In this way we can load the way we want.
