This tutorial tries to explain to you how to create your own craters on planets Photoshop.

It is very important to understand that there are many ways of doing things Photoshop and not only that I explained here. The aim of this tutorial is to give an idea of what can and can not dictate how it should be. I encourage all who read this tutorial also experimenting on their own in addition to simply follow the tutorial. Aim to meet the program's tools and try to reach the same result with their own techniques. Also I will try to explain "why" of the individual steps. So please do not just blindly follow all the steps, if not try to think about each step carefully and try to really understand what is happening and what is supposed to achieve.

With this in mind, let's get down to business ...

Step 1: Basic form and outline

Open Photoshop and click on File -> New. Create a new canvas with a width and height of 400 pixels. Alternatively you can use a higher resolution. Set Foreground color to white and the background a little gray. The code I used was "5a5a5a." Press Ctrl + Shift + N to create a new layer. Name it "base." Continue reading →

It is very important to understand that there are many ways of doing things PhotoShop and not only that I explained here. The aim of this tutorial is to give an idea of what can and can not dictate how it should be. I encourage all who read this tutorial also experimenting on their own in addition to simply follow the tutorial. Aim to meet the program’s tools and try to reach the same result with their own techniques. Also I will try to explain “why” of the individual steps. So please do not just blindly follow all the steps, if not try to think about each step carefully and try to really understand what is happening and what is supposed to achieve.

With this in mind, let’s get down to business …

Step 1: Basic form and outline

Open Photoshop and click on File -> New. Create a new canvas with a width and height of 400 pixels. Alternatively you can use a higher resolution. Set Foreground color to white and the background a little gray. The code I used was “5a5a5a.” Press Ctrl + Shift + N to create a new layer. Name it “base.”

In principle, we must see the general shape of our crater. The craters are usually round it makes things easier.

Click the Marquee tool (M). Put it in elliptical right clicking once on the icon and select the Elliptical Marquee Tool. ”

Now create a selection in the center of your canvas. Make sure you have enough space on the sides.

Fill the selection with white by pressing Shift + Backspace and press Enter, but do not deselect yet. The white circle marks the area inside the crater, which has a light opposite to the area around the crater.

Now let’s get the selection by 1 pixel. To do this Click Select – Modify> – Collapse>. Type “1″ in the dialog box and accept. You’ll hardly notice a change in the canvas, but the selected area is exactly one pixel smaller on each side. Next, erase all that is in this new selection, with the tool “Draft” or press Delete. You will stay with a thin white ring.

Deselect.

Note:
This ring is the basis for the outline of the crater. Is the most enlightened and higher, that is why it is white. However, a crater is not perfectly circular so that will add a touch more irregular in the next step to deform the ring slightly. In view of profiled, then the red dots mark the area you just created.

Step 2: Doing irregular

Well, now we have the boundary that marks the core area of our crater. Press “Ctrl + N Shift + +” to create a new layer and name it “scheme.”

Now take the Brush Tool (B). and configure the width of the Brush to 1 pixel on the menu “Options” Panel. In the layer “Outline” draw a circle in hand with the brush and it is not perfect. Use the layer “base” as a guide. Make sure the circle is completely closed (this is important for the next step.) The goal is draw very imperfect circle look round yet. You do not want it to look oval.

Step 3: Inner Shadow

Now let’s see first a little enlightenment. To clarify the way the light falls on a spherical object of a profile view can be very useful.

First hide the layer “base” so it will not now. Now take the “magic wand” (W) and select the layer “outline.” Click inside the circle. Space is selected within the scheme. Create a new layer and name it “Inner Shadow.” Place under his cloak “Scheme”

Now take the Gradient Tool (G) and Panel Options select “Radial Gradient”. Also configure your foreground color to black and let the background color of the gray 5a5a5a. ” Now make a gradient in your selection that extends from one end of the schema to another. Your canvas should now look like the image # 6.

Step 4: Shadow Foreign.

Once done, let’s move to the area outside the crater. Select the “Profile” layer once again take the “Magic Wand Tool (W). This time, click outside the circle. Your selection now covers only the area on the canvas outside the body of the crater. Press Ctrl + Shift + N and name your new layer “shadow outside.” This layer must also be included under the layer “Outline.” Then we will pull a gradient in the same way as before, only this time we will not use a background color. So take the “Gradient Tool (G) again, but this time click the drop-down menu panel Options and select “front-transparent color.”

Now click and drag along the black line that appears in the picture no 7.

Do this twice. Clear. Now it should be something like the image nr.8.

You may want to erase a bit of black on the sides with the eraser tool (E). Be sure to use a soft brush with a hardness of 0% for this. I used one with a diameter of 150 pixels.

Note:
What we have now looks a bit like a crater. It’s time to explain how this is going to be adapted to the shape of a planet. What made this tutorial lighting is to create a crater. So if you put it on a planet is mixed with the texture. Gray represents, in general, the lighting of the texture. The black shows where the crater casts shadows. Then we add some white to mark the parts that are more enlightened than the rest of the texture.

Take a look at the profile view of enlightenment. We care to shade parts of the crater (with some fine tuning.) What remains are the highlight.

Step 5: more lighted areas

Create a new layer and name it “highlights areas”. Select the layer “Outline” (which should still be in the top). Take the tool “magic wand” (W) and select the area outside the crater. Now set your foreground color white and take the “Gradient Tool (G) again. Keep the settings from step 4 and pull a gradient along the white Nr.9 image. Do this twice.

Now select the inner area of the crater. Create a new layer with the name “Star Inside” and fill in white (Shift + Del). Do not deselect yet, take the “Tool Frame” (M). Click inside the selection and drag a bit in the direction given by white Nr.9 the image. Your canvas should look like the image Nr.10.

Now you need to soften the selection. To do this click on Select -> Modify -> Soften and type “30.” Click OK. You will notice that your selection has become perfectly round. Make sure you are still working on his cloak “Star Inside” and press backspace 4 times. Clear.

You will have deleted the white on the inside of your choice. Having softened selection 30 pixels and in advance has the effect of having no hard edges. The target is removed gently without hard edges to simulate the dispersal of light. Nr.11 image shows what happened to me after completing step 5.

If you have not saved your work, better do it now.

Step 6: Too Clean

Well, now we have the base of the crater made. The next thing to do is make the thing seem more real. This step will give you a little more randomness. It still looks too much like a plastic button. Create a new layer above the layer “Outline” and name it “Outline Detail.”

Now take the brush “(B) and attach a diameter of 1 pixel in the”Panel options. Your foreground color should still be white. Now just try to make the “Scheme” look a bit more random. Work with the brush to create denser parts and undulations. You have to make a zoom on image to do this. You can work with a 5-pixel brush with 0% hardness and set the opacity of the brush about 10%. You can do all this in the panel of options.

After finishing with the 5-pixel brush resize to 45 pixels and OPIC brush to 2% (all done in the options panel).

With this brush you want to work only inside the crater, so take the “Magic Wand” (W) and select the inside of the crater by clicking inside the crater in the layer diagram. ” Do not forget to re-layer “Details of the Scheme” before starting to work again. If you want to play some more, try different brush sizes, but beware of exaggerating node, otherwise it will be too small shadows in its crater. In the picture no. 12 can see how the crater could occur after the retouching.

For the grand final try to paint a little relief, as set out in the crater. There are no rules right here, making it difficult to give specific instructions. But in general I recommend a brush with an opacity of 10% or less and a variation in the size of the brush about 65 to 1 pixel. Be sure to use Brushes with 0% hardness. Also check the space inside the crater with the “magic wand (W) to avoid affecting the edges. (Once again: do not forget to return to the appropriate layer). If you feel confident enough you can take” Smudge tool (R) and use that resource as well.

No Image. 13 shows how our crater is complete. Save a JPEG copy.

Step 7: Putting it on a planet

Welcome to the last stage where will the crater on the surface of a planet. I recommend a planet with a very subtle texture that does not stand out much. Here you can see the planet I’ve used. Is my image “Moonlands.”

Now open the JPEG image of the crater, copy it over the layer of the planet. Normally do not mix very well.

While the crater layer is selected, press CTRL + T to transform it. Hold the mouse off the layer. Now click and drag to rotate the crater so you can see in the image on the right. Do not press Enter yet …

… and give a rectangular shape as seen in the image. Once this is done press Enter to confirm the transformation.

Note:
Depending on where you want the crater has to leave the square. This crater is to be placed in the top left of the planet. If you want to put it exactly in the middle it obviously has to stay square. The closer to the edge of the planet, more will have to deform.

Make sure the layer of the crater is selected and change the blending mode of it to “Overlay.” To do this, click the dropdown menu in the Layers window, where it says “normal.” It will provide a list of blending modes. Hover your mouse over the “overlap” and click. Its crater should now look like the photo on the right. You can then movel a bit to better match the spherical surface of the planet. (Move a little towards the top left)

You will notice that the crater is now combined with the texture and color of your planet. Anyway should still be able to distinguish the square edges around its crater. To get rid of this press CTRL + L to enter the dialog levels. ” Now move the slider middle right or left until you see the border disappear. If you can not make the border disappear completely, zoom and just delete the edge with a soft eraser.

If you are unhappy with the location or size of the crater can move a bit and maybe change its size by pressing CTRL + T again. To maintain the proportions of the crater hold down Shift while resizing. The image at right shows my final result.

More of a crater, just repeat this step a few times. I recommend that you make a variacipòn size and do not put in all the planet’s surface since the end result would be very monotonous.

Congratulations. Crater has created its own in Photoshop!

In Designm.ag we see a large collection of such images, one can observe, but this is not the end of this compilation, where the effect is well implemented or not. To cite an example, we can see the picture you chose to illustrate this article creates perfectly the atmosphere and feel that we are giants watching the landscape, while others like the No. 18 or 19 (plaza de toros or basketball court) do not leave to be a bit of blur image, without our sense of miniature. Continue reading →

The tutorial in question, in English, but very well explained, is an excellent illustration based on an original photograph, which means of dealing with circular shapes, light and shadow effect achieves a very creative visual impact.

I have not put something focused on photography in colorps, which is why today I came across this free resource did not want to pass up.

Although for my a good photographer is one who manages to convey a message with your photography without any retouching, we know that there are a lot of what we need a little or we like to “modify” a little reality to the picture and get to edit them either a simple set of shades or even more.

That’s why one of the things I like about Adobe PhotoShop is that when I can edit a photo using one of the thousands of “Actions“(Shares) that for someone who does not know yet, are sequence of pre-recorded instructions that is done automatically.

These tools can be found on the internet and most are free and unrestricted use. One of the things I like about these tools is that by using Actions can get excellent results with our photos and also allow us to save time when editing photos, this without counting that there are thousands of editing options.

Browsing one of the blogs that I like I found a list of 45 amazing PhotoShop Actions FreeSome examples of these include:

Photoshop Action 15.

PhotoShop has become very popular in large part to its use for retouching famous models we usually see fashion magazine covers and billboards. Certainly a practice that has received various criticisms about the extent to which it is permissible to change the original image of persons subjected to indiscriminate digital retouching.

Some say that this practice is completely illegal because they show a unrealistic beauty influencing new beauty erroneous charges represented in these photo manipulations. One way or another, the fact is that PhotoShop has become an indispensable tool for all designers they have to tweak the models before publication in the media. However, this practice may seem to many customs, nuances are taking a fuss about the excessive use of digital enhancement, resulting in much different from the real beauty of the model after undergoing the usual photo shoot.

If Photoshop is the program that miraculously manage to eliminate any body shape that interferes with human beauty, why not consider it as the best beauty cream market?. Under this concept have been developed Adobe Photoshop cream, A product that is the best facial and body lifting that may exist. A miracle cream that only requires some digital masks and good use of touch-up Brush.

Of course the product is fake, this is only an ironic idea that beauty plasma profile resemble unreal to many people who want to see the famous glow on coated paper.

Many times we take great photographs that are damaged by the fund they have, perhaps the image is an arm of another person, a dirty and unpleasant background or simply want to highlight the main character. The image editing software Such as Adobe PhotoShop and Gimp Tend to be quite complicated if you do not have the necessary knowledge.

However, there are also online tools that help users to give them tasks that would otherwise be outside their area of action. For example, there tool InstantMask, A program with a free version and a Premium version, whose main goal is to help eliminate the background of your pictures easily.

Step 1:

To begin run Adobe PhotoShop stock and open the previously downloaded from the list of resources used.

Step 2:

The next thing to do is Aliza skin of the model, we will do by creating a Quick MaskTo do so we must move to Quick Mask Mode pressure point Q or the corresponding button on the Toolbar, Being in that mode, with the Brush Tool and unlocked the layer Background or Background, Paint the party to correct, that would become the face (Omitting the eyes, mouth, nostrils, and hair). Once painted the whole faceWe leave the Quick Mask Mode in the same way that when activated. That way we stay selected faceAfter this, we Selection-> Invert.

Clarification: for faces that have imperfections, can be corrected using the Healing Brush Tool multiplying the layer Background or Background.

Step 3:

Now, having the face selected, must go to Layer-> New-> Layer via Copy, Then let’s take a Gaussian BlurTo this end we Filter-> Blur-> Gaussian Blur and configure show in the picture below, the layer will now go down the Opacity to 52%Then we Filter-> Noise-> Add Noise and configure as shown in the following image.

Step 4:

Taking the skin list, we will start with makeup. First we have to draw the eyes of the model, doing this will give more depth to the eyes. To do this we must use Pen Tool (tutorial: how to use the pen tool), This stock we delineate the top and bottom of the eye. What we will do first is to outline the bottom edge to create a thick line with Pen Tool as shown in the following picture, then take the line created, create a new layer and do right click, then we will Fill route… and Use chose the option Color …In the window that comes out we have to choose Color Black (#000000) It and click on OK in the two windows to create the filling, then press the key Exhaust to clear the route we did with the pen. Taking the line created with the Eraser Tool, Blur the edges a bit route to give more realism to the delineated, then he lowered the layer Opacity 50%. In the layers created in this last step, which would become four, put them together in a group called Eyeliner. We again do all the way to the top edge, then do the same in the other eye.

Step 5:

We now proceed to place the shadow in the eyes of the model. This is done with Brush Tool with a color that coordinates, I used a tone color similar to the hair of the model, is a dark red (# Ac3301), Taking the color selected, create a new group on the group called Eyeliner, and we named Shadow, inside, create a new layer, in this and we can go from a brush with circular brush with hardness to the 0% the lid of both eyes as shown in the picture below. After the layer, we changed the Fusion Mode to Soft Light. Create a new layer and change the color to a lighter but always with the same tone, in my case # D0521e and we strokes in the same way a little higher than the previous one, then go to Filter-> Blur-> Gaussian Blur and give it a value Radio of 8.5 pixels. Done that, we changed the Fusion Mode to Soft Light. If we look more realism to the previous layer we can also give a Gaussian of 3.8 pixels. With Eraser ToolWe eliminate imperfections such as overlapping with the eyes or eyebrows. Then we perform the same procedure on a new layer but this time around the entire eye with a smaller brush. We again change the Fusion Mode to Soft Light layers.

Step 6:

Once the previous step we can begin to put the tabs on the model, to perform this correction we should use some Brushes tab called ‘Eyelashes’ similar to the one taken as an example in the image and can be downloaded here. Once you download our Brushes, installed it in our PhotoShop and alone would suffice to choose the more we like to do this simple step. In this case, I chose this brush that we see in the image. After choosing our brush in black and painted over the image must go to Edition -> Free Processing and we seek the point in our model where the tab is correctly positioned. This same step must be performed in the two upper lashes and if so feel free to repeat it in the bottom flanges of the model (but in this case is not necessary, and would charge too much in the eyes of the model).

Step 7:

In the previous step and ended up with what would makeup in the eye area, we must now continue with the rest of the face, in this case we are going through the mouth. In the mouth the first thing we are correcting their teeth. To fix your teeth, that is, creating the effect of Teeth Bright. This effect is very simple and if done properly will obtain an excellent result that no one would notice the retouching in the teeth of the model. To do this, the first thing to do is select our Rounded Brush worth 17px. (Approx.) and proceed to fill it with white paint each of their teeth. I lowered the layer opacity to white paint, giving a value of Opacity 60%, Remaining as a result what we see in the image. Once that, for us to be a little more verbose our work we use the tool Draft and carefully wipe off the remnants of white paint left on the teeth of the model, so being completed this step and a denture bright for the model.

Step 8:

In this step we will paint the lips of the model, it would be the last thing he’ll do to your mouth. To proceed to paint the lips of the model we must choose Brush Tool worth 15px. (Approx.). Taking our tool list’ll paint all around the lip of the model, being covered as shown in the image. Then, we must only use the Eraser Tool to remove the remaining paint and is much more tidy. After the deletion of surplus paint, we just have to go to Layers in the side menu Photoshop and select the Fusion Mode -> Color. And we get the final result that we see in the image.

Step 9:

The last thing left is to put as much as possible the face of our model, so we will apply a “flush” to his face. To do this we apply a pink Clarita in their cheeks with Brush Tool, As shown in the picture.

Step 10:

Finally we can only collect all the layers and folders in our image, as shown. To do this we need only hold “Shift“While select all layers, then let go”Shift“And we were selected all the layers. Having them we selected and right click Convert Object to smart. Then we stayed a single background layer. On it’ll do the last step. To add the finishing touch use a Action, We can download from here. Once we have the Action downloaded and installed on our PhotoshopProceed to use the Action 2 by clicking Run Selection in Bar ActionsAs shown in the image. But do not execute the entire action, just run around the Selections to mark on Red Color in the image. When finished with the Action let’s give the last touch to our image. We select tab Filters -> Interpret -> Lighting Effects and give the same values as shown in the picture. We click on OK and ready.

In Photomagazine I find a good tutorial in the series inspired Dexter, The series that deals with a forensic expert in blood spatter analysis and simultaneously, a psychopath who at the end of his turn in the criminals police are looking for particular questionable moral and dispose of them.

The good news is that talking to Marcelo, told me that Removed registration site, So this and other tutorials are released to them without users and keys.

And remember, all tutorial teaches techniques applicable to various purposes. The famous phrase: That the tree not the forest cover is completely valid in this case. Do not stay with the example but the lessons learned.

The Polish photographer Andrej Dragan school has created through his portraits which have developed a spring known as “Draganización” or “Dragan effect”. Its disturbing photographs are made with a technique of post that has generated an enormous charm to be imitated.”Some people say that good pictures reveal some hidden truth of the model pictured. Sadly, I must confess that such people will not find anything interesting in my photographs, simply because they have that purpose. ”
Words, words less well defined Andrej Dragan his characteristic work.
Born in Warsaw in 1978This young man bursting with power in his hometown studied in addition to obtaining scholarships Amsterdam, OxfordAnd Lisbon. He received his Ph.D. cum laude quantum physics 2005. Awarded for the best thesis in physics Poland by Polish Physical Society (2001), Was awarded a scholarship by the European Science Foundation (2001, 2002) For National Committee for Scientific Research (2002, 2003), Awarded by Young Students of the Foundation for Polish Science (2003, 2004), Won the award “Stay with us”Of PolitykaThe most important Polish magazine (2004.) Conferences and seminars conducted Amsterdam, Krakow, Glasgow, Minsk, Munich, Oxford, St. Andrews, Warsaw and Tokyo. A member of the scientific secretariat of the organizing committee of the Scientific OlympicsAnd currently works as an assistant professor of physics at Warsaw University.
These “small” achievements are accompanied by numerous national and international awards in music composition contests. And all this without a single drop of drinking coffee in his life.
But beyond the awards and degrees, its world famous germinated when, from 2003, Decided to devote himself to photography.
In the past year we received numerous requests to conduct a tutorial on “Draganización”. Even my father, renowned journalist, far from the PhotoshopAt some point asked if I had any idea of how to achieve that effect.
And I think that after so many requests, is an ideal tutorial tutorials to retake Photomagazine.
One of the key features of images “Dragan” circumspect expressions are well marked, making it necessary to use an image with these characteristics.
After opening the image double the Background (Background) And add an Adjustment Layer (Adjustment Layer) Channel Mixer (Channel Mixer).
From the drop down menu look for the option Black & White with Green Filter (Black and white with green filter.) Before clicking the button Ok, Change the value of Constant (Constant) Between -10 and -20.
We accept and change the blending mode of Layer (Layer) By Hard Light (Hard Light).

We stopped at the Layer (Layer) That we have doubled the Background (Background) And change the blending mode for Hard Light (Hard Light) Or Soft Light (Soft Light).

We stopped at the Adjustment Layer (Adjustment Layer) Channel Mixer (Channel Mixer) We had created earlier, and using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Alt + Shift + EWe create a new Layer (Layer) Containing the union of the data from all three Layers (Layers.) We named it Layer (Layer) “Dragan”.

We go to the menu Filter (Filter) And since the option Sharpen (Focus) We apply the filter Unsharp Mask (Unsharp Mask) With the following values:

Amount (Amount): 50%
Radius (Radio): 50 px
Threshold (Threshold): 10 levels

We are already halfway to achieving the desired effect.
Now we return to the menu Filter (Filter) And since the option Distort (Distort) We apply the filter Lens Correction (Lens Correction) With the following values:

In force (Vignette): -50
Midpoint (Midpoint): From 0 to 15

It is important to remember that the values may change depending on the size of the image that is used.
Doubled the Background (Background) And place it above the layer we named “Dragan” and to modify the mode of fusion Screen (Plot).
We press the button Alt and, without releasing the button, we click on the icon Add layer mask (Add Layer Mask) Window Layers (Layers) To create a Layer Mask (Layer Mask) Black.
Select tool Brush (Brush), And soft brush, we paint with white on the mask to reveal some parts of the image such as eyes, nose shadows and some wrinkles. To soften what we have done and making sure we’re still standing in the Layer Mask (Layer Mask), We apply a blur filter, such as the Gaussian Blur (Gaussian Blur.) If the “correction” of Layer (Layer) Mode Screen (Plot) Is very evident, we can lower the opacity of that Layer (Layer).

When we were done to “solve” the shadows of our image, we return to unify Layers (Layers) In one Layer (Layer) Using the command Ctrl + Alt + Shift + E.
With the command Ctrl + J doubled the Layer (Layer) We’ve created and yields a keyboard shortcut using the Ctrl + Shift + U.
In this Layer (Layer) Will modify the mode of fusion Multiply (Multiply) And we vary the opacity by a 50%.
Again double it Layer (Layer) And to modify the mode of fusion Soft Light (Soft Light).

With these steps we have managed quite well to emulate the famous effect “Dragan”. If you want to expose their work and exchange ideas with fans of this style, be sure to visit the user group Flickr.
Until the next tutorial.
